This aligns with the mandatory national standard GB 44015- 2024 "Energy Efficiency Limiting Values and Energy Efficiency Grades for Cold Storage (Chambers) and Compressor Condensing Units," issued by the National Standardization Administration of China in April 2024, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the cold chain industry and promote low-carbon innovation and development in the sector.

The new generation of ZB*KN and ZFI*KN series refrigeration scroll compressors developed by Copeland feature the following characteristics:

  • Comprehensive product range: Covering 1.5-7 HP, the new generation of products continues to adopt Copeland's dual-flexible scroll design, providing superior anti-liquid return capability and tolerance to contaminants, significantly enhancing reliability and durability.

  • Enhanced energy efficiency: By optimizing the scroll profile, adopting high- efficiency motors, and optimizing the intake and exhaust passages, the new generation of Copeland products offers better design redundancy, achieving outstanding energy efficiency ratios. Compared to existing product series, the medium-high temperature series achieves an average energy efficiency improvement of 8%, while the low-temperature series, equipped with injection enhancement technology, achieves over 20% energy efficiency improvement compared to liquid injection scroll compressors;1

  • Compact Design: The compact design makes it an ideal choice for cabinet- type condensing units, widely applied in small cold storage facilities, convenience stores, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, agricultural cultivation, food processing, and storage industries. Copeland's new-generation products assist customers in upgrading existing products to meet national energy efficiency standards while helping end-users achieve energy conservation and emissions reduction.

In a project at a mushroom cultivation base, the customer compared design solutions from different brands of scroll compressors and ultimately selected the new generation ZB*KN compressors from Copeland. After calculation, the annual electricity savings amount to 80,000 kWh, helping the end customer recover the initial investment cost of the equipment sooner.2
