Copeland Business System
The Copeland Business System (CBS) is how we run our business. It is the global, enterprise-wide set of structured processes and tools that are rigorously and consistently applied to build organizational capabilities as a competitive advantage and are key to delivering sustained profitable growth.

Our guiding framework
Copeland, its affiliates and its subsidiaries are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards when working with customers, suppliers, governments, the public and each other. All Copeland colleagues adhere to these standards and contribute to a culture of transparency, fairness and accountability within the organization.
Fostering an ethical culture
Our ethics are guided by a robust Code of Conduct designed to uphold our unwavering commitment to integrity and ethical behavior. Our Code guides employees in ensuring their business practices align with our ethical standards and improves understanding of these ethical principles among customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
We encourage open communication about ethical concerns. Questions or ethical situations, potential colleague misconduct or violations of our Code of Conduct or procedures should be reported to a Copeland HR Ethics Officer or through our ethics hotline.
The following are examples of situations that should be reported:
- Accounting or auditing issues
- Bribery, extortion or inappropriate gratuities
- Conflicts of interest
- Concealment of non-compliance with company procedures, standards or policies
- Embezzlement, fraud or theft
- Excessive personal activities on company time
- Intentional failure to comply with applicable laws or regulations
- Falsification of company records
- Misuse of company assets
- Release of confidential information
- Retaliation, harassment or discrimination
- Safety, health or environmental issues
- Travel expense reporting misconduct
Primary guidance documents
The Copeland Ethics and Compliance Program has the following primary guidance documents:
- Employee code of conduct handbook, which outlines the responsibilities of all employees.
- Executive officer supplement, which addresses the special responsibilities of the company's executive officers.
- Directors supplement, which addresses the special responsibilities of members of the company's Board of Directors.
- Supplier code of conduct, which address the responsibilities for all suppliers.
- Code of ethics for business partners, which addresses expectations for all our vendors, suppliers and customers regarding ethical and business standards.
- Statement of tax principle, which describes Copeland’s approach to management of its tax affairs.
- Copeland statement on the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act and United Kingdom Modern Slavery Act of 2015. Outlines efforts to address slavery and human trafficking in supply chain.
- Copeland Canada Modern Slavery Report This report describes the continued efforts being taken to enhance the transparency in our supply chains by outlining the steps taken during the 2023 financial year to prevent and reduce the risk that forced labour or child labour ("Modern Slavery") is used at any step of the production of goods in Canada or elsewhere, or of goods imported into Canada.

Ethics hotline mobile intake
Create a unique user ID and set up a password to submit a confidential concern to the hotline provider.
Ethics hotline toll-free numbers
The ethics hotline is accessible globally by web, mobile or phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Copeland employees, former employees, contractors, customers, vendors and external parties can contact the ethics hotline anonymously, and all calls are confidential.
When reporting an issue or asking a question, a country-specific hotline number is provided as an alternative to submitting the report or inquiry online.
If you elect to report your concerns using the hotline number, a trained specialist employed by an outside company will listen to your concerns (in almost any language) and prepare a report. The report will be forwarded to the appropriate Copeland parties for investigation.
Non-retaliation policy
We all have a responsibility to bring forward concerns of misconduct. Copeland will not tolerate prohibiting or restricting the reporting of theft, fraud, waste or abuse of materials, persons or property by Copeland colleagues or contractors. Furthermore, Copeland will not allow retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, raises a concern, reports suspected misconduct, or provides information related to an inquiry of suspected misconduct. The company will investigate any instances of possible retaliation and discipline colleagues who have retaliated against someone who has reported possible misconduct.
