Christine Carney
Chief Legal Officer
Christine Carney has served as Copeland’s chief legal officer since 2023 . She has 20 years of in-house legal leadership experience, utilizing business insights to drive lean process improvements and transform legal teams. She was previously general counsel for two of Copeland’s multi-billion-dollar business units, specializing in commercial deal strategy, data privacy and cybersecurity.
She began her career at Emerson in corporate governance, then transitioned to leadership roles in global real estate and environmental compliance. She led significant M&A global footprint carveout projects and contributed to sustainability strategy development. During Copeland’s transition to a standalone company under Blackstone, Christine played a pivotal role implementing ethics, compliance and risk processes.
Christine holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics from Saint Louis University, with study at the London School of Economics, and a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctorate from Saint Louis University.
